I am a Conservationist in Wildlife Management. I am a Photographer.

If you can please hit the support button to join my crowdfunding effort, COVID19 has hit our ability to operate in the field hard. We are dependant on tourism to generate an income to protect wildlife such as rhino, pangolin, leopard, hyena and to keep our field teams operational month to month and during full moon periods when poaching is at its worst. Poachers are not limited by COVID and continue to operate at full strength. This puts us under further pressure with limited resources.

Thanks for your support

Níall.

I have always had a fascination with the natural world and being immersed in it has always led me closer to understanding myself. As a young lad, the yearning to explore the wild was satisfied in the undergrowth of marginal forests and hedgerows surrounding park lands in suburban areas of Dublin.

Without fully understanding the sheer scale of the wilderness outside my small but treasured world, I would imagine exploring places that I had only seen in National Geographic magazines or David Attenborough documentaries — all the while teaching myself about my own natural heritage and what it meant to be from the Island of Ireland. Little did I know how deep the rabbit hole would take me.

Ten years ago, I immersed myself into the field of nature conservation and for the last 8 years, I have been involved with helping private nature reserves to build their rhino protection and wildlife monitoring, data collection programs for conservation research. This comes at a time when the poaching of endangered African Wildlife is at epidemic proportions all to satisfy a growing market in Asia for traditional medicines and trinkets.

Through the Non-Profit I work with, Global2by2, and our education platform, The Dedicated Conservationist Network, we have developed a system to support these reserves and their threatened and endangered species by externally funding monitoring field teams to subsidise the incredible cost of protecting individual species in a landscape diverse with many species.
